A Drunk Driver who had no insurance has been put off the road for six years.  Samuel McAllister aged 26 of Sundale close, Tallaght pleaded guilty to drunken driving no insurance and no driving license at The Old Belgard Road Tallaght on February 7 2012.  He also pleaded guilty to failing to comply with a gardas directions at Sundale Close on April 16 2011.
Presenting Sergeant Carmel Henry told the Court that at 4.43am on February 7 last year she responded to a call that a black Mercedes was driving erratically on the Belgard Road.  She said the car had been driving between the kerb and the centre line .  McAllister was stopped and arrested on suspicion of drunken driving.  He was taken to Terenure Garda Station where he provided two breath samples. His breath level was 8.1mg/100ml.
She added that on April 16 last, the gardai had received a call to go to Sundale Close where McAllister was directed to leave the area but became aggressive and was arrested .  The court heard that McAllister had four previous convictions including a three year ban imposed in March 2011 for being drunk in charge and a six month ban from 2008 for no insurance .  Judge Brian Sheridan sentenced McAllister to three months jail suspended for 12 months and imposed a six year driving ban.
