BOY SOLD CRACK COCAINE

A TEENAGER who sold crack cocaine to undercover Gardaí will have to attend a local youth service for 90 days.Tallaght Court heard that the 17year old sold €50 worth of the drug to undercover Gardaí on three occasions.  The Gardaí were working as part of an operation to tackle small scale drug dealing in the Tallaght area.  The teenager with an address in Tallaght pleaded guilty to simple possession of cocaine for sale or supply at a location in Tallaght on May 3, 2011.  He had also pleaded guilty to criminal trespass at a Crèche in Tallaght on August 19, 2011.  He is also charged with burglary and possession of a stolen laptop bag at a location in Tallaght on November 4, 2011 possession of a wrench for use in theft at a location in Tallaght on January 26 2012 and with dangerous driving in Tallaght on November  2 2011.His solicitor told Judge Lindsay that he had given his client a stark warning on the last date.  Reading the report Judge Lindsay imposed a community sanction on the teenager.  As part of the sanction the teenager must attend his local youth service for the next 90 days.

Siblings face assault charge

A BROTHER and sister who deny assaulting Gardaí in a “serious incident” have had their case remanded by Tallaght Court.  Gehad  Moustafa aged 25 with an address at Hunter Green, Ballycullen is charged with assaulting Garda Geraldine Ross and resisting Garda Ross at the above address on December 8 2011.  Amro Moustafa, aged 27 with an address at Hunters Avenue, Ballycullen, is charged with assaulting Detective Garda Connolly and Detective Garda Austin Larkin at Gehads address also on December 8, 2011.  The Moustafas' Solicitor, told Judge John Coughlan that his clients would be pleading not guilty.  Judge Coughlan remanded the Moustafas on bail for a week to fix a date for hearing.

Learner driver fined €400

A FORMER fire truck driver at an airport has been fined €400 for road traffic offences. Richard Mansfield aged 18, of Kiltalown Way, Tallaght, pleaded guilty to driving on a learners permit while unaccompanied on September 16, 2011.Upon request Judge John Coughlan granted leagal aid.  He fined Mansfield €200 for each offence.

Fine for having no insurance

A TEACHER who had no insurance has been fined €1200 by Tallaght Court.  Grace Jones aged 23, with an address at Fortfield Drive, Terenure, pleaded guilty to having no insurance at Cheeverstown Road in Tallaght on December 18th 2011.  Judge Coughlan heard that Jones had no previous convictions.  Jones’s solicitor said his client works as a relief teacher with autistic children.Judge Coughlan fined Jones €1200 and imposed no disqualification.

Fine for Cocaine

AN APPRENTICE who was caught with €70 of cocaine has been fined €1200.Karl Walsh aged 21 with an address at Glenshane Crescent, Tallaght, pleaded guilty to simple possession of cocaine at Cushlawn Park in Tallaght on October 20, 2011.Detective Garda Mary Enneguess told Judge John Coughlan that she found Walsh in possession of €70 worth of cocaine.  She said Walsh had no previous convictions.  Walsh’s Solicitor Michael Hennessey said his client was an apprentice.  Convicting Judge Coughlan fined Walsh €1200

NOT GUILTY PLEA TO DRUG POSSESSION CHARGES

A YOUTH  accused of dealing €300 worth of cannabis herb has had his case remanded for hearing by Tallaght Court.  The court had heard it will be alleged that Ciaran Toland was found in possession of cannabis herb worth €330.  Toland aged 23 with an address at Killinarden Heights Tallaght is accused of simple possession of cannabis herb and possession of cannabis herb for sale or supply on June 24, 2011.  Toland's Solicitor said his client was pleading not guilty.  Judge Coughlan remanded Toland on bail to a date in June for hearing.
