TALLAGHT TEENAGER GIVEN A SECOND CHANCE
Saturday, 3rd October 2009

A teenager was observed by staff in HMV Tallaght placing CDs in a paper bag, a Garda told the court, and leaving without paying for them. The schoolboy was apprehended outside the store and all property was recovered.

The teenager pleaded guilty to stealing the CDs worth €521.67 from HMW, the Square, on the 7th February 2009. Ms Kitty Perle BL, the teenager’s counsel, told Judge Early that her client had “pleaded guilty at the earliest possible opportunity”.

The teenager was accompanied in court by his mother and when asked if her son was attending school daily, she answered that indeed he was and that he was now in second year.

Judge Early remanded the schoolboy on continuing bail to July, when, if the report was good and the accused had come to no further Garda attention, he would strike out the case.
