David Larkin, 31, with an address at Delaford Grove, Knocklyon, pleaded guilty to engaging in threatening and abusive behaviour at a Tallaght Luas stop on 12th January 2011. Garda John Hoare told Judge Victor Blake that on the above date, he witnessed Larkin drinking and shouting abuse at another man. Hoare asked Larkin to leave the area but he refused.  When Larkin continued to shout abuse he was arrested.

Larkin had 11 previous convictions, including a 4 month sentence, suspended for 2 years, for possession of articles for use in theft. This particular sentence was handed down by Judge John Coughlan.  As a result, Judge Blake remanded Larkin on continuing bail for a week for the attention of Judge Coughlan for consideration of the breach of that sentence.

Following Judge Coughlan’s decision on the matter, the case will be remanded back to Judge Blake for sentencing.
