A retired human resource manager has been banned from the road for two years for drink driving.

Last week in Tallaght District Court, Liam Dunne, aged 54, with an address at The Grove, Kingswood Heights pleaded guilty to drink-driving at Cookstown Road, Tallaght on July 26, 2005.

Garda Pauline Glennon told Judge William Hamill that she arrested Dunne on suspicion of drink-driving at 12.20am on the above date.

Dunne was taken to Terenure Garda Station where he provided two breath samples which recorded an alcohol/breath level of 79mg/100ml.

Dunne’s solicitor, Kevin Tunney, said that his client was a retired human resources manager.

Convicting, Judge Hamill, fined Dunne €150 and banned him from driving for two years.  He postponed the commencement of disqualification until January 1, 2006.
