Award of €206,000 for Injury

Mr Brendan Meehan (61), a truck driver, of Whitechurch Place, Ballyboden, Dublin has secured an award of €206,000 in damages at the High Court over an injury sustained during a delivery to Priority Construction Ltd, Clontarf Road, Dublin on the 10th of October 2009.

Mr Meehan had been providing assistance to a vehicle operator when a forklift attachment fell. As a result of this, Mr Meehan fell heavily on to his right shoulder.
Liability was admitted and the case was before the court for the assessment of damages only. Mr Justice Sean Ryan assessed total damages at €206,942, which included loss of past and future earnings, and awarded costs to Mr Meehan.
